Job Objective

  • The Lead Planning & Cost Controls Engineer monitors performance of the project in meeting objectives in terms of cost, schedule, business planning, reporting, information management, contracting and procurement, organization and staffing, with structured project management controls.

Responsibilities

  • Establish, implement and ensure compliance with procedures and processes for Project Services & Controls.
  • Direct all project activities related to preparation of annual Business Plan and budget.
  • Serve as focal point for general project assessments, evaluation and performance including ADNOC reviews and Independent Project Reviews.
  • Direct preparation of management and project reports (daily, weekly, monthly) and presentations.
  • Maintain close liaison with project management team (Engineering, Construction, Quality, SHE&S).
  • Guide development and implementation of project procedures and systems related to contracts, project controls, procurement, information management and financial reporting.
  • Conduct briefing sessions for project team members on project services requirements and processes with focus on Safety.
  • Lead risk management process for project team and ensure project issues/risk register is up to date.
  • Ensure activities with respect to project cost, schedule, contract, procurement, and information management are managed per guidelines and contract requirements.
  • Finalize project cost and schedule estimate confidence package, ensuring project risks/issues are properly weighted.
  • Provide pointed cost and schedule information to support decisions; develop and discuss periodic cost and schedule reports with IPMT.
  • Provide advice on cost and schedule impact of changes, modifications or alternates.

Qualifications And Experience

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or equivalent.
  • Master’s degree in management or equivalent.
  • Minimum 20+ years of experience within the oil & gas sector, including Project Controls Management experience on large projects.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good leadership skills.
  • Good teamwork and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of relevant international codes and standards.
  • Ability to make independent judgments and decisions in the resolution of Quality issues.
  • Experience with contractors and suppliers and ability to manage related interfaces.
