Job Description

  • Wood is currently recruiting for PMC HSE Design Technical Safety Specialist role to support our ADNOC Offshore project in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
  • Due to the nature of the projects and client expectation, the position will be based at our client office in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

Responsibilities

  • Provide expertise in all Technical Safety matters.
  • Ensure design and engineering compliance with relevant codes and ADNOC standards.
  • Coordinate, Monitor and handle Technical Safety design and engineering with EPC Contractor as per project expectation and complete the same within the time frame.
  • Work with other discipline engineers within IPMT, EPC Contractor, ADNOC Engineering / Operation / Site Interface to resolve technical issues.
  • Perform regular and timely technical reviews of Technical Safety deliverables developed by engineering consultants/contractors, ensuring design quality in compliance with relevant codes, standards, and best practices.
  • Ensure integration of overall Technical Safety team. Overall coordination within IPMT Technical Safety Team.
  • Ensure quality Technical Safety Engineering Consultant’s & EPC Contractor’s Technical Safety design activities.
  • Review and approval of Engineering Consultant's and EPC Contractor’s work and ensure compliance with ADNOC project specifications, relevant codes and standards, and best industry practices.
  • Coordinate the required engineering participation in the development and analysis of various design options and business models.
  • Participate in teams for equipment sizing / equipment selection considering optimization and standardization.
  • Ensure that the facilities are designed in accordance with the latest corporate guidelines with respect to environment and health aspects.
  • Participate in layout reviews, Model review, design reviews, and technical workshops.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in oil and gas industry.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent technical team and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience and detailed knowledge of relevant international codes and standards.
  • Knowledge of engineering computer programs and general business software.
  • Ability to make independent decisions in the planning, organizing and coordinating to develop solutions to complex problems.
