About the Role
Wood is seeking an experienced PMC Constructability Specialist for a high-profile client in Abu Dhabi. The role ensures engineering designs are optimized for efficient, safe, and cost-effective construction, bridging engineering and construction.

Responsibilities
- Develop and implement the Constructability Program in line with ADNOC project requirements
- Prepare the Constructability Execution Plan (CEP) and ensure integration with overall project execution strategy
- Review FEED and detailed engineering deliverables to ensure ease of construction, modularization opportunities, and accessibility
- Coordinate closely with engineering disciplines and EPC contractor construction teams
- Conduct constructability workshops and design reviews with stakeholders
- Evaluate and approve construction methodologies including heavy lifting plans, module installation strategies, and site logistics
- Identify opportunities for offsite fabrication and modular construction, assessing schedule, cost, and risk benefits
- Identify constructability related risks and constraints early, providing mitigation strategies
- Provide ongoing support during construction phase, conduct site visits, and assist in troubleshooting construction challenges
- Capture and document lessons learned, contributing to ADNOC knowledge base and best practices
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Structural, or equivalent)
- Minimum 15 years of experience in refinery projects
- At least 5+ years in constructability or construction engineering roles
- Strong experience in PMC roles on ADNOC or similar Middle East projects
- Experience in EPC/EPCM project execution
- Strong understanding of construction techniques and sequencing, modularization strategies, heavy lifting and rigging
- Familiarity with ADNOC standards and specifications, international codes (API, ASME, ISO)
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and 3D models
- Strong coordination and communication skills
- Problem solving mindset with practical field experience
- Ability to influence engineering teams and contractors
- High attention to detail with a safety first approach

Job Objective
- The PMC Constructability Specialist is responsible for ensuring that engineering designs are optimized for efficient, safe, and cost effective construction and installation.
- The role bridges engineering and construction by embedding constructability principles early in the design phase and throughout project execution.
Constructability Planning & Strategy
- Develop and implement the Constructability Program in line with ADNOC project requirements
- Prepare the Constructability Execution Plan (CEP) and ensure integration with overall project execution strategy
- Define constructability objectives, procedures, and KPIs
Design Review & Optimization
- Review FEED and detailed engineering deliverables to ensure ease of construction and installation
- Identify modularization and prefabrication opportunities
- Ensure accessibility for construction and maintenance
- Provide early input to eliminate design inefficiencies and reduce rework
- Ensure alignment with ADNOC standards, specifications, and HSE requirements
Interface with Engineering & EPC Contractors
- Coordinate closely with engineering disciplines (civil, structural, piping, mechanical, E&I) and EPC contractor construction teams
- Conduct constructability workshops and design reviews with stakeholders
- Ensure lessons learned from previous ADNOC projects are incorporated
Construction Methodology Review
- Evaluate and approve construction methodologies including heavy lifting plans, module installation strategies, and site logistics and sequencing
- Ensure methods are safe, practical, and optimized for site conditions
Modularization & Prefabrication
- Identify opportunities for offsite fabrication and modular construction
- Assess benefits in terms of schedule reduction, cost savings, and risk mitigation
Risk Management
- Identify constructability related risks and constraints early
- Provide mitigation strategies for congested layouts, interface clashes, limited access or lifting constraints
- Support project risk workshops and HAZID/HAZOP reviews
