The Phlebotomist provides high-quality phlebotomy and specimen collection services for diverse patient groups.
The role involves collaboration with healthcare and laboratory teams to support accurate, timely, and safe specimen collection.
Organization
National Reference Laboratory provides diagnostic services across a network of facilities in the United Arab Emirates.
The laboratory serves hospitals, medical centers, clinics, corporate organizations, and reference laboratories.
Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and blood collection for pediatric, adult, pregnant, and geriatric patients.
- Verify patient information, test requests, and relevant medical history before collection.
- Collect, label, process, store, and transport blood, urine, and culture specimens.
- Obtain sufficient, high-quality specimens, ideally within the first two attempts.
- Communicate clearly, compassionately, and with cultural sensitivity throughout the process.
- Prioritize STAT, scheduled, and outpatient requests for timely processing.
- Maintain aseptic technique, hygiene, infection control, and patient safety standards.
- Follow M42, DOH/DHA, accreditation, CAP, ISO, and laboratory quality requirements.
