- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and applying primer or sealer
- Mix, match, and apply paints, varnishes, and other finishes
- Select and prepare appropriate painting tools and materials
- Apply coats of paint or finish to surfaces using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment
- Ensure proper coverage, texture, and finishing standards
- Protect surrounding areas and furniture with drop cloths or masking tape
- Perform touch ups and corrections when needed
- Follow safety procedures and handle materials responsibly
- Maintain painting equipment and tools in good condition
Requirements
- Proven experience as a painter or similar role
- Knowledge of various painting materials and techniques
- Ability to work with different surfaces (wood, metal, concrete, etc.)
- Attention to detail and a good sense of color and design
- Physical stamina and ability to work at heights if required
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training is a plus
