- Lead and supervise the delivery of high quality, evidence based care in Paediatric Emergency Medicine
- Conduct patient examinations, take medical histories, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and develop treatment plans
- Lead ward rounds and manage both inpatient and outpatient cases
- Oversee clinical activities of junior medical staff and participate in their instruction and supervision
- Liaise with other medical specialties and participate in multi disciplinary meetings
- Participate in on call coverage on a rotational basis
- Accurately document clinical information and comply with hospital and DOH policies
- Participate in clinical audits, performance management, and risk management
Requirements
- MBBS or equivalent degree from a recognized medical school
- Completion of structured specialty training program (e.g., North American/European Board Certification, Fellowship of a Royal College, or equivalent Tier 1/2 qualification)
- Minimum of 3 7 years of post specialty clinical experience
- Eligibility for DOH license to practice in Abu Dhabi
- Fluency in English and Arabic
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills

Job Summary
- The Consultant Physician holds a senior position responsible for providing exemplary, comprehensive, and evidence based medical care within their designated specialty.
- The role requires leadership in clinical governance, supervision and training of junior medical staff, and active participation in quality improvement initiatives.
- The consultant ensures the highest standard of patient care for both inpatient and outpatient services, participates in on call rotations, and guarantees strict adherence to all DOH regulations and SEHA Hospital policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the delivery of high quality, evidence based care.
- Conduct patient examinations, take detailed medical histories, order and interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe medications and therapies, and develop comprehensive treatment plans.
- Lead ward rounds and manage both inpatient and outpatient cases.
- Oversee clinical activities of junior medical staff and actively participate in their instruction, guidance, and supervision.
- Liaise with other medical specialties and support services and participate in multi disciplinary meetings.
- Participate in on call coverage on a rotational basis.
- Accurately document all relevant clinical information and comply with all hospital, departmental, and DOH policies.
- Participate in clinical audits, performance management systems, and proactive risk management.
- Communicate clinical information to patients and their families in a timely and compassionate manner.
Qualifications and Requirements
- MBBS or equivalent degree from a recognized medical school.
- Successful completion of a structured specialty training program (e.g., North American/European Board Certification, Fellowship of a Royal College, or equivalent Tier 1/2 qualification).
- Minimum of 3 7 years of post specialty clinical experience.
- Eligibility for a valid DOH license to practice in Abu Dhabi.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, strong leadership abilities, problem solving skills, and commitment to CME/CPD.
- Fluency in English and Arabic is required.
