Job Overview
- Assist in efficient operation and maintenance of machinery and equipment for smooth loading/discharging operations in the port/terminal.
Core Responsibilities
- Moving controls, devices, and levers to drive forklifts to transfer materials between areas.
- Organizing and securing stored materials such as bales, super sacks, boxes, pallets.
- Loading or unloading materials manually onto pallets, platforms, skids, or lifting devices.
- Operate Mobile Harbour Crane (MHC) for loading and unloading containers from vessels and handle various cargo types.
- Performing routine post and pre inspections to ensure suitable working nature of forklift equipment and crane systems.
- Consulting, working, and coordinating with supervisors and managers regarding operations.
- Wrapping material loads and cleaning warehouse premises.
- Inspecting trucks for safety and following safety instructions, especially for hazardous materials.
- Training driver(s) and driving in shifts to meet transportation requirements.
- Performing other duties as allotted by manager or supervisor.
- Adhering to all safety guidelines and regulations.
- Monitoring weight limits and ensuring proper balancing of loads.
