The On-Site Engineer will be expected to assist the Project Supervisor with technical questions/issues.
The Engineer will predominantly need to collect, review, and ensure the accuracy of Completion Records for the client’s Project Manager.
The Completion Records consist of the following responsibilities but not limited to:
- Assist with red-line mark ups and validate the accuracy of the redline drawings and corresponding As-Built drawings to ensure material is listed correctly, dimensions are accurate, etc. This task will include working with the client’s designer to update redline drawings on site. The Engineer may not need to know CADD because the client’s designer will be completing the drawing updates, but the Engineer will need to work with/assist the designer to obtain accurate redline drawings.
- Work with Welding Inspectors to collect, organize, and validate required welding examination reports, X-Ray drawings, NDE Operator Qualifications, Welding Procedures, and NDE X-Ray procedures. The Engineer needs to ensure all welds are accurately labeled on drawings and accounted for with a passing X-Ray on the Welding Examination Report.
- Work with Third-Party Contractor and Coating Inspectors to collect, organize, and validate coating and painting reports.
- Work with client’s Corrosion Technicians to collect, organize, and validate Transmission Field Inspection Report (“TFIR”), internal corrosion reports (COR Form IC 1004 and/or 1002), Cathodic Protection As-builts, and other forms as required by client.
- Work with Project Supervisor and Third-Party Contractor to obtain completed pressure test reports including the report with proper signatures, testing chart, pressure test drawing, and current calibration certificates. The Engineer also needs to complete pressure test drawings showing which material/facilities are tested on which tests.
- The Engineer will need to verify the accuracy of all the station job books containing the vessel and equipment drawings and information.
- The Engineer will need to compile all inspectors’ pictures electronically onto a CD or cloud storage. All images shall be labeled and saved in the project file. Include a photo placard filled out with details (time, date, location, etc.) in the image.
- Work with client’s Project Manager and Operations to ensure all gas loss is entered into the Gas Tracking System. The Engineer needs to record/list the following parameters for a blowdown: starting pressure, pipeline diameter, and pipeline length blowdown. The Engineer needs to record/list the following parameters for a purge: time duration of purge, blowoff size, pipeline diameter, and pipeline length being purged.
