Position Summary
The engineer delivers vulnerability remediation from the Gruve UAE office while connecting remotely to the client environment through approved VPN or jump-host access.
The role owns the 24x7 on-call rotation, after-hours maintenance windows, scan scheduling, automation, upload monitoring, reporting, and backup coverage for the onsite engineer.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage Qualys VMDR scans, authentication records, asset groups, tags, vulnerability details, severities, and remediation guidance.
- Patch and remediate Windows, Linux, Exchange, Active Directory, enterprise applications, databases, network devices, security devices, cloud workloads, and virtualization platforms.
- Respond to critical findings, emergency patch directives, and failed-change escalations during out-of-hours coverage.
- Execute maintenance windows with staggered rollout and tested rollback while maintaining SLA availability.
- Raise change requests and participate remotely in client CAB meetings.
- Monitor ALKASHIF uploads and the Qualys Splunk Add-on, troubleshooting failed uploads.
- Automate remediation and reporting with PowerShell, Bash, and Qualys or Splunk APIs.
- Perform verification rescans and maintain vulnerability registers, aging reports, evidence packs, and weekly and monthly reports.
- Provide backup coverage and conduct clean handovers with the onsite engineer.
Basic Qualifications
- 3–6 years of network or systems engineering experience with hands-on patching and vulnerability remediation.
- Qualys VMDR familiarity for running scans and obtaining vulnerability details and reports.
- Strong Windows Server and Linux patching experience, including WSUS, SCCM, and package managers.
- Experience with network devices, firewalls, NAC, IPS, IDS, VMware, Hyper-V, and cloud workloads.
- Experience supporting customer environments through VPN, jump-host, bastion, and remote console access.
- PowerShell or Bash scripting and automation experience.
- Understanding of CVSS, CVE, vulnerability management, ITIL change management, and rollback procedures.
- Availability for 24x7 on-call coverage, including weekends and public holidays.
- Strong written English, documentation, and remote-coordination skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Qualys VMDR, MCSA, RHCSA, CompTIA Security+, CompTIA Network+, CCNA, Azure Administrator, or ITIL Foundation certifications are preferred.
- Self-management, reliability, calmness under pressure, automation-mindedness, and precise documentation are valued.
Work Arrangement
- The role works from the Gruve UAE office while accessing the client environment remotely through approved connectivity.
