About Gruve

Gruve is a software services startup focused on cybersecurity, customer experience, cloud infrastructure, and advanced technologies such as Large Language Models.

The company works with enterprise customers and partners in a dynamic early-stage environment.

Position Summary

Serve as the client-site engineer and hands-on owner of the vulnerability remediation cycle in the customer environment.

Run vulnerability scans, prioritize findings, patch affected assets, manage change controls, and represent the service in operational meetings.

Workplace and Schedule

  • The role requires full-time onsite work in Dubai at the client environment.
  • The engineer must be comfortable with physical, console, out-of-band, and locally restricted asset access.

Vulnerability Remediation

  • Run Qualys VMDR scans, extract findings, and prioritize remediation with infrastructure, application, and security owners.
  • Patch servers, applications, databases, network devices, security devices, cloud workloads, and virtualization platforms.
  • Remediate isolated, air-gapped, out-of-band, console-access, appliance, and other locally restricted assets.

Change and Verification

  • Raise and execute change requests with risk, impact, scheduling, and tested rollback details, and attend CAB and operational meetings.
  • Perform staggered patch rollouts within maintenance windows, intervene physically when needed, and conduct verification rescans.
  • Maintain the vulnerability register and aging report through verified closure.

Reporting and Customer Support

  • Perform daily client uploads through the Qualys Splunk Add-on and troubleshoot upload health issues.
  • Coordinate handover to the offsite engineer and act as the onsite contact for queries, audits, evidence requests, and walkthroughs.
  • Contribute remediation, patch-time, coverage, and availability data to weekly and monthly reports.

Required Qualifications

  • 3–6 years of network or systems engineering experience with hands-on patching and vulnerability remediation.
  • Experience with Qualys VMDR, Windows Server and Linux patching, Microsoft Exchange, Active Directory, and infrastructure devices.
  • Understanding of CVSS, CVE, vulnerability management, ITIL change management, rollback procedures, and governed production changes.
  • Strong customer-facing communication, documentation, coordination, and written-English skills.
  • Ability to work onsite in Dubai full time and pass client security screening and site-access requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with the Qualys Splunk Add-on, Splunk or SIEM, and PowerShell or Bash scripting.
  • Certifications such as Qualys VMDR, MCSA, RHCSA, Security+, Network+, CCNA, Azure Administrator, or ITIL Foundation.
