Position Summary

Senior engineer role combining service leadership with hands-on remediation of complex and security-critical systems.

Own KPI and SLA governance, prioritization, risk sign-off, CAB representation, quality assurance, and mentoring.

Serve as the technical escalation point for onsite and offsite engineers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own KPI governance for patch time, coverage, and availability and validate monthly reporting.
  • Prioritize and classify high-impact findings and advise on remediation.
  • Patch and upgrade firewalls, NAC, IPS/IDS, routers, switches, servers, virtualization, and cloud systems.
  • Represent the service at the client Change Advisory Board and enforce change governance.
  • Manage aging findings, exceptions, owner delays, and risk acceptances.
  • Lead root-cause analysis and continuous-improvement actions.
  • Allocate work between onsite and offsite engineers.
  • Quality-assure change records, re-scan evidence, and reporting packs.
  • Mentor two engineers and maintain runbooks and cross-training.

Basic Qualifications

  • 6–10 years of network and security engineering experience with a strong vulnerability management background.
  • Deep hands-on patching and upgrade experience across security infrastructure, servers, virtualization, and cloud.
  • Familiarity with Qualys for vulnerability scans and reports.
  • Strong networking, Windows/Linux, virtualization, and Azure awareness.
  • Knowledge of vulnerability management, CVSS, exploitability, and remediation strategy.
  • Experience with ITIL change management, CAB processes, SLA/KPI governance, and stakeholder reporting.
  • Experience leading a small team across mixed onsite and remote coverage models.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, mentoring, and documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CCNP Security, CCIE Security, PCNSE, Fortinet NSE, Cisco ISE, Qualys VMDR, CISSP, CISM, or ITIL certifications are preferred.
  • A leadership and ownership mindset with comfort managing KPIs and audits is preferred.
