About the Role
MLOps Engineer opportunity on an initial six-month freelance contract with potential extension based on project requirements and performance.
The hybrid role combines onsite and remote work in the UAE.
The role focuses on building, automating, and maintaining infrastructure and processes for deploying, monitoring, and scaling machine learning solutions in production.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and maintain scalable MLOps frameworks and automated machine learning workflows.
- Build CI/CD pipelines for model development, testing, deployment, and monitoring.
- Collaborate with data science, machine learning engineering, data engineering, and DevOps teams.
- Deploy and manage machine learning models in production.
- Maintain model versioning, governance, monitoring, retraining, and validation processes.
- Ensure infrastructure reliability, scalability, security, and performance.
- Implement logging, monitoring, and alerting for models and platforms.
- Optimize cloud resources and troubleshoot deployment, infrastructure, and data pipeline issues.
Required Skills and Experience
- Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, engineering, data science, or a related field.
- At least four years of experience in MLOps, DevOps, machine learning engineering, or a similar role.
- Strong Python and machine learning lifecycle management experience.
- Hands-on experience with MLOps platforms such as MLflow, Kubeflow, Airflow, SageMaker, Vertex AI, or Azure ML.
- Knowledge of CI/CD tools, Docker, Kubernetes, cloud platforms, infrastructure as code, monitoring, and observability.
- Strong software engineering, automation, system reliability, analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting generative AI and large language model deployments.
- Familiarity with Databricks, Spark, and large-scale data processing platforms.
- Knowledge of responsible AI, model governance, and compliance frameworks.
- Experience in enterprise-scale production environments or delivering projects in the UAE or GCC region.
Contract and Employment
- Initial contract duration is six months with possible extension.
- Employment type is freelance or independent contractor.
- The opportunity is open to freelancers and independent contractors only.
Location and Work Arrangement
- The role is hybrid, combining onsite and remote work.
- The listed UAE locations are Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Fujairah.
