About the Role
SCC Middle East is seeking an experienced Deployment Engineer for an initial six-month freelance contract with possible extension.
The hybrid role combines onsite and remote work across Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Fujairah in the UAE.
The position plans, coordinates, and executes software deployments across development, testing, and production environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and execute application and software deployments across multiple environments.
- Manage release schedules and deployment activities for seamless delivery.
- Collaborate with Development, QA, Infrastructure, and Operations teams throughout the release lifecycle.
- Automate deployment processes and improve CI/CD pipelines.
- Monitor deployments, troubleshoot issues, and support rollback and disaster recovery procedures.
- Maintain deployment documentation, release notes, and operational runbooks.
- Ensure security, governance, and change management compliance.
- Improve deployment efficiency, reliability, and performance through planning, risk assessment, and post-deployment reviews.
Required Skills and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- At least four years of experience in Deployment Engineering, Release Management, DevOps, or System Administration.
- Experience with CI/CD tools, Git, cloud platforms, Docker, Kubernetes, server environments, and scripting.
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in enterprise-scale environments and highly available production environments.
- Familiarity with Terraform or Ansible, monitoring and observability platforms, and ITIL or change management processes.
- Previous experience working within the UAE or GCC region.
Contract
- Initial contract duration is six months, with potential extension based on project requirements and performance.
