Role Overview

Location and Work Arrangement

• The role is hybrid and may be based in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, or Fujairah, UAE.
• The arrangement combines onsite and remote work and requires availability for hybrid working in the UAE.

Contract Details

• The initial contract duration is six months, with possible extension subject to project requirements and performance.
• The opportunity is open to freelancers and independent contractors only.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy scalable machine learning models and AI solutions.
• Build and maintain end-to-end pipelines for data ingestion, training, testing, and deployment.
• Collaborate with data scientists, data engineers, and business stakeholders on production-ready solutions.
• Optimize models for performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Implement MLOps practices for deployment, monitoring, and maintenance.
• Work with large datasets, develop production APIs and services, and ensure data quality and model accuracy.
• Troubleshoot model performance and deployment issues and stay current with emerging AI technologies.

Required Skills and Experience

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, artificial intelligence, data science, engineering, or a related field.
• At least four years of experience in machine learning engineering, AI development, or related roles.
• Strong proficiency in Python and machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn, or Keras.
• Experience deploying machine learning models in production and building end-to-end pipelines.
• Strong software engineering knowledge, plus experience with SQL and data processing technologies.
• Familiarity with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, containerized deployments, CI/CD, and MLOps methodologies.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills and the ability to work independently in freelance consulting.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Large Language Models and Generative AI solutions.
• Experience with Databricks, Spark, or other big data technologies.
• Knowledge of model monitoring, governance, and Responsible AI practices.
• Experience in enterprise-scale environments or delivering projects in the UAE or GCC region.
