Position Summary
Deloitte's Artificial Intelligence & Engineering team builds and operates software, data, AI, network, and hybrid cloud solutions.
The Software Engineer II joins the Engineering as a Service team to modernize technology and deliver engineering-led solutions.
Work You'll Do
- Design, develop, and maintain backend applications, microservices, and APIs using Java, Spring Boot, and Node.js.
- Translate requirements into scalable designs covering service integration, data access, and API specifications.
- Troubleshoot defects and production issues while improving performance and reliable service delivery.
- Develop unit and integration tests, contribute to code reviews, and support CI/CD practices.
- Collaborate with product, QA, platform, and engineering teams on planning, documentation, and delivery.
- Implement Node.js services, integrations, security, performance, reliability, observability, and technical documentation.
Required Qualifications
- Four to seven years of hands-on Java 8 or later backend engineering experience.
- Four to seven years of hands-on Node.js experience.
- Knowledge of core Java, object-oriented design, clean coding, concurrency, streams, and lambdas.
- Experience with microservices, Spring Boot REST APIs, Spring Security, Spring Cloud, persistence, SQL, and ORM or JPA.
