- Prepare detailed cost estimates and BOQs for MEP systems using drawings, specs, and take off sheets
- Develop initial budgets aligned with client expectations
- Compile tender documentation (BOQs, specs); evaluate bids from suppliers and sub contractors
- Assist in procurement and vendor negotiations
- Draft, review, and administer contracts; ensure compliance with conditions (FIDIC, NEC)
- Manage variations, change orders, and contractor claims
- Track expenditures against budget with cashflow forecasts and CVR reporting
- Identify cost overruns and propose mitigation strategies
- Prepare interim valuations, payment applications, and final accounts; certify subcontractor payments
- Recommend cost effective MEP alternatives without sacrificing quality
- Perform risk analyses and manage mitigation strategies
- Provide regular cost reports, forecasts, and risk assessments to senior management
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or related field
- 3 10+ years of experience in MEP focused QS roles in construction
- Proficiency in quantity surveying/cost estimation software (PlanSwift) and MS Excel
- Competent in AutoCAD/Revit for interpreting MEP drawings
- Familiar with measurement standards (CESMM, SMM7, NRM2) and contract forms like FIDIC, NEC
- Strong analytical, negotiation, communication, and reporting skills

Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in quantity surveying, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or related field
- Typically, 3–10+ years in MEP focused QS roles in construction
Essential Skills & Tools
