Role Overview
Ddesigny.com is seeking an experienced MEP Engineer and Draftsman for design and consulting work in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
The role divides time between office work, site visits, and council meetings.
The position covers mechanical, electrical, and plumbing design, drafting, coordination, and site support.
Requirements
- At least four years of experience as an MEP draftsman.
- Knowledge of applicable codes and regulations related to MEP systems.
- Proficiency in ArchiCAD, BIMX, MEP 3D, CAD, or related drafting software.
- Experience with plumbing, electrical, FCU, split, package AC, VRF, AHU, DX, and HVAC systems.
- Strong mathematics and physics knowledge, communication ability, coordination skills, and project management capability.
Core Responsibilities
- Develop detailed designs, drawings, and specifications for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
- Conduct feasibility assessments and site inspections, and prepare project plans and estimates.
- Coordinate with engineers, architects, clients, subcontractors, vendors, and other project staff.
- Review regulations and ordinances and monitor safety, production, and regulatory compliance.
- Manage project budgets, resources, deadlines, quotations, and related project documentation.
On-Site Drafting
- Prepare and modify MEP drawings based on real-time site conditions and project requirements.
- Update drawings for site changes and variations, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and fire safety layouts.
- Work with site engineers, supervisors, architects, and contractors to support correct installation.
- Modify designs to address site constraints and unforeseen technical challenges.
Systems Coordination
- Coordinate mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems for alignment and integration with construction plans.
- Assist with clash detection and resolve conflicts between MEP systems and structural or architectural elements.
- Attend site meetings and provide feedback and recommendations based on current drawings.
Documentation and Compliance
- Maintain accurate records of MEP drawings, revisions, design adjustments, and site deviations.
- Ensure designs comply with local regulations, safety standards, and construction codes.
- Perform regular checks and audits to verify that work follows approved plans and quality requirements.
