Position Overview

Location and Work Arrangement

• The listed location is Dubai, UAE, and the position states work is in person.
• The role includes regular site visits and requires willingness to travel 100%.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare MEP shop, construction, coordination, and as-built drawings using AutoCAD.
• Develop HVAC, plumbing, drainage, firefighting, electrical, and other MEP service layouts.
• Review architectural, structural, and MEP drawings to identify discrepancies and coordinate services.
• Prepare coordination drawings and resolve clashes between MEP services and architectural or structural elements.
• Prepare builder's work drawings, sleeve drawings, equipment layouts, and installation details.
• Update drawings based on consultant comments, site requirements, and approved design changes.
• Prepare as-built drawings based on actual site installation and approved modifications.
• Coordinate with engineers, project managers, consultants, subcontractors, and site teams.
• Ensure drawings comply with approved specifications, project standards, UAE codes, and authority requirements.
• Assist with material take-offs, schedules, equipment layouts, and technical documentation.
• Conduct site visits to verify dimensions, existing services, and installation conditions.
• Maintain drawing registers, revision records, document control, RFI responses, and consultant comments.

Technical Skills

• Advanced AutoCAD 2D is required.
• Revit MEP and Navisworks are identified for working knowledge and MEP coordination or clash detection.
• Required technical areas include MEP shop drawings, HVAC and ductwork, plumbing and drainage, firefighting and fire alarm, electrical layouts, containment coordination, clash resolution, and as-built drawings.
• Microsoft Office and BIM or 3D coordination are also identified in the technical profile.

Qualifications and Experience

• A diploma or bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Drafting, or a related field is listed in the qualifications section.
• The education section separately marks a bachelor's degree as required.
• At least 8 years of experience as an MEP Draftsman, including UAE construction experience, is required.
• Experience from design or shop drawing stage through completion and handover is required.
• Good understanding of MEP installation methods and construction drawings is required.
• Ability to work independently and coordinate with engineers, consultants, contractors, and site teams is required.

Preferred Candidate Profile

• Knowledge of UAE standards and authority requirements, including DEWA, Dubai Civil Defence, and relevant municipality requirements, is advantageous.
• The ideal candidate is technically strong, highly accurate, able to work to project deadlines, and experienced in coordinating multiple MEP disciplines on active construction sites.
• UAE project experience and familiarity with consultant approval procedures are highly valued.
