About the Role
We are seeking a Melter to execute melter duties and maintain furnace equipment, including EAF/LRF operations. Responsibilities include manual tasks, lifting operations, rigging, and acting as a signalman for safe lifting.

- Execute melter duties and maintain furnace equipment, including EAF/LRF operations
- Perform manual tasks assigned by supervisor: changing electrodes, preparing and adding materials (carbon, aluminium, ferro alloys) into the furnace
- Maintain ladle equipment for molten steel transfer
- Rig and sling materials such as electrodes, furnace parts, and ladles in accordance with safe rigging practices
- Collaborate with crane operators to accurately and safely move material, pallet and heavy items
- Act as a signalman during lifting and rigging operations to guide crane operators
Requirements
- Experience in executing melter duties and maintaining furnace equipment
- Ability to perform manual tasks such as changing electrodes, preparing and adding materials into the furnace
- Proficiency in rigging and slinging materials in accordance with safe rigging practices
- Ability to act as a signalman during lifting and rigging operations

- Execute Melter Duties and Maintain Furnace Equipment: Perform manual tasks assigned by the supervisor to ensure smooth operation of EAF/LRF according to production schedules. Includes changing electrodes, preparing and adding materials (carbon, aluminium, ferro alloys) manually into the furnace, and
- Lifting Operations, Rigging, and Slinging: Rig and sling materials such as electrodes, furnace parts, and ladles in accordance with safe rigging practices. Collaborate with crane operators to accurately and safely move material, pallet and heavy items.
- Signalman Duties for Safe Lifting Operations: Act as a signalman during lifting and rigging operations to guide crane operators, ensuring proper alignment and safe handling. Use appropriate hand signals, communication devices, and standard procedures.
