Role Overview
Maintain food processing, packaging, and industrial utility equipment to maximize reliability and minimize downtime.
Follow food safety, manufacturing, and occupational safety standards during all maintenance activities.
Preventive and Corrective Maintenance
- Execute scheduled preventive maintenance plans and perform mechanical repairs on processing and packaging equipment.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic faults in equipment components.
Equipment and Utilities Support
- Perform adjustments, changeovers, and equipment alignments between production runs.
- Monitor and perform minor repairs on steam boilers, air compressors, chillers, and water treatment systems.
Safety and Working Conditions
- Follow GMP, HACCP, and Lockout/Tagout procedures and use food-grade lubricants and sanitary design practices.
- Work shifts including nights and weekends in cold storage rooms, warm oven areas, and other varied environments.
- Stand, bend, stretch, and lift mechanical parts weighing up to 25 kg.
Technical Skills
- Use industrial hydraulics, pneumatics, drive systems, power transmission, mechanical drawings, blueprints, and equipment manuals.
- Basic TIG/MIG welding and machining skills are a plus.
Qualifications and Experience
- Technical Diploma or Vocational Certificate in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field.
- Three to five years of mechanical maintenance experience in a food, beverage, or FMCG manufacturing plant.
- Knowledge of HACCP, ISO 22000, or BRC standards is preferred.
Documentation
Log maintenance work orders, spare parts consumption, and machine history in the Computerized Maintenance Management System.
