Overview

We are looking for a

Mechanical Integrity Engineer

to join our Qatar operations on a contractual basis.

The role ensures the safety, reliability, and compliance of static and rotating equipment across oil & gas / LNG facilities.

Key focus areas include equipment integrity assessments, inspection strategy development, root cause failure analysis, and adherence to integrity management systems.

Equipment Integrity Assessment

  • Assess mechanical integrity of
  • static equipment
  • (pressure vessels, storage tanks, heat exchangers, piping systems).
  • Assess
  • rotating equipment
  • (pumps, compressors, gas turbines, blowers) for mechanical health and remaining life.
  • Review NDT results, corrosion monitoring data, and thickness reports to identify degradation trends.

Strategy Development

  • Develop and optimize inspection plans and maintenance strategies using risk-based methodologies.
  • Integrate predictive and preventive maintenance approaches to maximize equipment lifecycle.
  • Update and maintain the facility's Mechanical Integrity (MI) program.

Failure Analysis & Rca

  • Lead root cause investigations for equipment failures and unplanned outages.
  • Use structured RCA methodologies (5 Whys, Fishbone, etc.) to identify causes.
  • Issue formal RCA reports with actionable corrective and preventive recommendations.

Compliance & Systems

  • Ensure compliance with
  • API standards
  • (510, 570, 580, 581, 653), ASME codes, and company integrity management systems.
  • Participate in internal and external integrity audits.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and alterations.

Repair & Coordination

  • Evaluate repair vs. replace decisions for critical equipment.
  • Develop technical scopes of work for repair or replacement activities.
  • Coordinate with maintenance, procurement, and fabrication teams for timely execution.

Reporting

  • Prepare weekly/monthly integrity performance reports for management.
  • Maintain equipment history records and integrity dashboards.
  • Present findings in technical review meetings.

Key Performance Indicators (Kpis)

  • Critical equipment with up-to-date integrity assessments
  • Reduction in unplanned equipment downtime
  • RCA completion rate (100% for major failures)
  • On-time execution of inspection plans
  • Zero non-compliance in integrity audits

Preferred Qualifications

  • API certifications (510, 570, 653)
  • Root Cause Analysis certification

Experience

  • Previous Qatar or GCC experience
