- Inspect and verify installation and commissioning of mechanical systems for compliance with specifications and safety regulations

- Conduct pressure tests, leak tests, and function tests on mechanical systems to verify integrity and operational capability
- Identify and document non conformities and report to QA/QC Lead for corrective action
- Prepare detailed inspection reports on mechanical installations including findings and corrective actions
Requirements
- Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- 3 5 years in mechanical inspection within shipbuilding, construction, or industrial projects
- Proficiency in mechanical inspection tools, pressure testing, and quality management systems
- Mechanical Inspector certification (e.g., API, ASME) preferred

Position Overview
- The Mechanical Inspector ensures that mechanical systems, equipment, and components are installed, tested, and maintained as per project specifications and quality standards.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Inspect and verify installation and commissioning of mechanical systems.
- Review mechanical drawings including P&ID and GA drawings.
- Ensure materials and components meet required specifications before installation.
- Inspect mechanical equipment for proper alignment, mounting, and installation.
- Perform routine checks and measurements on mechanical components.
- Conduct pressure tests, leak tests, and function tests.
- Identify and document non conformities.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Prepare detailed inspection reports.
- Work closely with engineering team to resolve technical issues.
- Monitor performance of mechanical systems during test phase.
- Assist in preparation of maintenance and inspection plans.
Key Competencies
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems including pumps, turbines, and HVAC.
- Proficient in mechanical inspection techniques and tools.
- Knowledge of applicable standards, codes (ASME, ASTM, etc.) and regulations.
- Experience in reviewing mechanical engineering drawings.
- Ability to detect discrepancies and non conformance.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Excellent reporting skills.
- Knowledge of safety standards.
Minimum Requirements
- Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- 3 5 years in mechanical inspection within shipbuilding, construction, or industrial projects.
- Mechanical Inspector certification (e.g., API, ASME) preferred.
- Proficiency in mechanical inspection tools, pressure testing, and quality management systems.
- Ability to perform inspections in challenging environments including shipyards and construction sites.
