Role Overview
We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer with hands-on experience in flow metering systems to support the design, engineering, and execution of custody transfer metering skid packages for oil & gas applications.
The candidate will be responsible for complete mechanical design, coordination with instrumentation and process teams, and ensuring compliance with the Clients and international standards.
• Engineering & Design
- Perform detailed mechanical design of flow metering skids for gas and liquid applications
- Prepare:
- o GA drawings (skid layout, equipment arrangement)
- o Piping layouts and isometrics
- o Support structures and skid base design
- Size and select:
- o Piping systems (ASME B31.3)
- o Isolation valves (ball, gate, DBB configurations)
- o Control valves (pressure control, flow control where applicable)
- o Strainers, filters, and ancillary equipment
o Pressure Drop Calculation
- Ensure proper layout of flow meters (ultrasonic, turbine, Coriolis) with required straight lengths and flow conditioning
- Package Engineering
- Develop complete skid design including:
- o Structural frame
- o Lifting and transportation considerations
- o Access platforms and maintenance clearance
- o Valve accessibility and maintainability
- o Proper arrangement of control valves upstream/downstream of meters
- o Integration of pressure reduction and control systems where required
- Coordinate with:
- o Instrumentation team for control valve sizing and actuator selection
- o Process team for control philosophy and operating scenarios
- Ensure integration of:
- o Sampling systems (fast loop, static mixers)
- o Proving systems (compact prover / master meter)
• Standards & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with:
- o API MPMS, AGA, ISO standards
- o ASME codes (B31.3, Section VIII where applicable)
- Support preparation of:
- o Design calculations
- o Technical datasheets
- o Material specifications
• Vendor & Procurement Support
- Review vendor drawings and documents
- Provide technical evaluation of:
- o Skid components
- o Fabrication proposals
- Support procurement team with technical clarifications
• Fabrication & Testing Support
- Provide engineering support during:
- o Skid fabrication
- o Assembly and integration
- Participate in:
- o FAT / IFAT activities
- Resolve site/fabrication-related engineering issues
- Documentation
- Prepare and review:
- o Mechanical design reports
- o Calculation notes
- o Method statements
- Ensure full documentation compliance with project requirements
