Overview

• Develop mechanical designs including HVAC, plumbing, drainage, and firefighting
• systems, based on project specifications and applicable codes.
• Perform load calculations using design software (HAP or equivalent) and determine
• equipment capacities and duct/piping sizes.
• Identify design and constructability issues and raise RFIs.
• Prepare design drawings, schematics, and single-line diagrams for all mechanical
• systems in coordination with architectural and structural layouts.
• Review design drawings and specifications to ensure compliance with project and
• authority standards (ASHRAE, SMACNA, NFPA, CIBSE).
• Select and specify HVAC and plumbing equipment, including chillers, FAHUs, AHUs,
• FCUs, pumps, valves, and control devices.
• Prepare BOQs, technical specifications, and design reports.
• Coordinate with consultants, clients, and other disciplines (electrical, civil, architectural)
• to resolve technical issues and ensure proper integration of services.
• Prepare shop drawings to ensure compliance with approved design intent and authority
• requirements.
• Liaise with local authorities (QCDD & Kahramaa, etc.) for design approvals, NOCs,
• and compliance verification.
• Able to identify the Value Engineering & cost saving opportunities.
• Participate in BIM coordination meetings and ensure mechanical services are properly
• routed and clash-free.
• Support the QA/QC team in reviewing inspection and testing procedures from a design
• compliance perspective.
• Ensure all designs are properly documented, updated, and controlled according to ISO
• quality procedures.
• Prepare as-built documentation and final design reports for project handover.
• Assist in commissioning plan preparation and system performance validation as per
• design criteria.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of authority regulations, energy efficiency requirements,
• and new design technologies.
