Job Summary
The Mechanical Construction Engineer is responsible for planning, supervising, and executing mechanical and structural demolition and construction activities at project site, ensuring compliance with project specifications, quality standards, safety regulations, and schedule requirements.
The role involves coordination with multidisciplinary teams, contractors, consultants, and clients to achieve successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage mechanical construction activities including demolition and installation.
- Review engineering drawings, technical specifications, method statements, and construction procedures.
- Coordinate with civil, electrical, instrumentation, and process teams to ensure smooth project execution.
- Monitor contractor performance, manpower deployment, productivity, and construction progress.
- Ensure compliance with project quality requirements, safety standards, and applicable codes.
- Conduct site inspections and resolve technical and construction-related issues.
- Review and approve material submittals, work procedures, inspection requests, and progress reports.
- Monitor welding, piping, structural, rotating equipment, and static equipment installation activities.
- Coordinate testing and commissioning activities with clients and vendors.
- Ensure proper implementation of HSE requirements and promote safe work practices at site.
- Assist in project close-out activities including punch list clearance and documentation.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in mechanical construction projects.
- Experience in SWRO , Water treatment plant, Natural gas projects preferred.
- Knowledge in working with GRP piping and vessels is preferred
- Strong knowledge of construction standards, codes, and international practices.
- Familiarity with QA/QC procedures, commissioning, and HSE requirements.
- Good communication, leadership, and coordination skills.
