Role Overview
Illumina Learning is seeking a Math Tutor specialising in a mastery-based approach using Singapore Math.
The tutor will work with a middle school student in Dubai to build mathematical understanding, problem-solving skills, and confidence.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver mathematics lessons tailored to the student's learning needs and goals.
- Apply mastery-based teaching and use Concrete-Pictorial-Abstract strategies, visual models, and problem-solving techniques.
- Prepare resources, identify learning gaps, and support academic progress.
- Assess understanding, adapt teaching plans, and encourage explanation of mathematical reasoning.
- Communicate progress with parents or caregivers and maintain lesson and outcome records.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field.
- At least two years of mathematics teaching or tutoring experience.
- Strong understanding of mathematical concepts and problem-solving strategies.
- Passion for teaching and excellent communication, organisation, and interpersonal skills.
- Singapore Math or mastery-based mathematics experience is highly preferred.
- UAE teaching or tutoring experience is preferred but not essential.
