Responsibilities
- Perform professional duties as a Maternal and Fetal Medicine specialist
- Provide surgical care in the operating room and O.P.D. for gynecologic and obstetric conditions
- Cover the Delivery Room including admitting patients, reviewing history, planning care, performing deliveries, and interacting with midwives
- Cover the Emergency Service by responding to calls for consultation
- Provide out patient care in Clinics as assigned
- Perform and interpret ultrasound examinations
- Interpret fetal heart rate monitoring and take appropriate action
- Carry out formal and informal consultations from other departments
- Attend committee meetings when assigned
- Interact with patients' families to keep them informed
Requirements
- Graduation from an approved medical school plus internship
- Three years residency in Maternal and Fetal Medicine culminating in a Post Graduate Masters degree and/or equivalent Fellowships approved by DOH
- Five or more years exclusive practice of obstetrics and gynecology since certification
- Must have DOH License to practice as Maternal and Fetal Medicine
- Excellent command of written and oral English
- Basic knowledge of medical Arabic desirable
- Thorough knowledge of medical ethics

Job Description
- Carries out obstetrician and gynecologic health care, both on an in patient and out patient basis, for those patients designated as being entitled to such care.
Responsibilities
- Will perform professional duties as an Maternal and Fetal Medicine
- Providing surgical care both in the operating room and in the O.P.D. for gynecologic and obstetric conditions for both emergency and planned procedures.
- Covering the Delivery Room to include admitting patients, reviewing their history, planning a course of action, performing both spontaneous and operative deliveries, and interacting with midwives.
- Covering the Emergency Service by promptly responding to calls for consultation.
- Providing out patient care in Clinics, when so assigned by the head of department.
- Doing and interpreting ultrasound examinations both in hospital and on an out patient basis.
- Interpreting fetal heart rate monitoring and taking appropriate action.
- Carrying out formal and informal consultations from physicians from other departments.
- Attending committee meetings when so assigned by the Head of department.
- Interacting with patients' families to keep them informed of the patient's condition, changes in condition and plans.
Qualifications
- Graduation from an approved medical school plus internship.
- Three years residency in Maternal and Fetal Medicine culminating in procuring a Post Graduate Masters degree and/or equivalent Fellowships approved by DOH.
- Five or more year’s exclusive practice of obstetrics and gynecology since certification.
- Must have DOH License to practice as Maternal and Fetal Medicine
- An excellent command of written and oral English.
- Basic knowledge of medical Arabic desirable.
