- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments and diagnostic evaluations
- Diagnose and treat mental health conditions such as ADHD, ASD, anxiety, depression, OCD, bipolar disorder, eating disorders, and behavioral disorders
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
- Prescribe, monitor, and adjust psychiatric medications
- Provide psychotherapy, behavioral interventions, and family counseling
- Collaborate with psychologists, pediatricians, therapists, social workers, nurses, and school personnel
- Assess and manage psychiatric emergencies including suicidal ideation, self harm, aggression, and psychosis
- Maintain accurate medical records and clinical documentation
Requirements
- MBBS or equivalent medical degree
- Completion of a residency in Psychiatry
- Fellowship or board certification in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry
- Valid medical license or eligibility for licensure (e.g., DOH/HAAD, DHA, or MOH in the UAE)
- Minimum 3–5 years of post specialty clinical experience

Job Summary
- The Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist is responsible for assessing, diagnosing, treating, and managing psychiatric disorders in infants, children, and adolescents.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments and diagnostic evaluations.
- Diagnose and treat mental health conditions such as ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, anxiety disorders, depression, OCD, bipolar disorder, eating disorders, behavioral and emotional disorders, tic disorders and Tourette syndrome.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
- Prescribe, monitor, and adjust psychiatric medications.
- Provide psychotherapy, behavioral interventions, and family counseling.
- Educate parents and caregivers about diagnosis, treatment, and prognosis.
- Collaborate with psychologists, pediatricians, occupational therapists, speech therapists, social workers, nurses, and school personnel.
- Assess and manage psychiatric emergencies, including suicidal ideation, self harm, aggression, and psychosis.
- Maintain accurate medical records and clinical documentation.
- Participate in multidisciplinary case conferences and quality improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in continuing medical education (CME), research, and teaching activities when applicable.
Qualifications
- MBBS or equivalent medical degree.
- Completion of a residency in Psychiatry.
- Fellowship or board certification in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
- Valid medical license or eligibility for licensure (e.g., DOH/HAAD, DHA, or MOH in the UAE).
- Minimum 3–5 years of post specialty clinical experience (depending on Specialist or Consultant level).
