About the Role

- Establish and maintain an updated Relief Plan up to one year in advance for all officers going offshore
- Organize travel arrangements for officers to join and leave vessels
- Ensure officers satisfy training and documentary requirements per company policies and legal requirements
- Review appraisal reports for all officers and follow up on recommended actions for performance management
- Establish personal development plans for officers and monitor them continuously
- Liaise with training section on scheduling training courses for personnel
- Maintain database of applicants and undertake initial screening
- Maintain all personnel and vessels files for accurate recording, certification, training, and salary payment
Requirements
- Degree in Business Administration/Human Resources or any other related field
- Minimum of 3 6 years’ experience in a medium to large sized company
- Reasonable understanding of the Maritime industry and legal requirements pertaining to sea staff employment
- Good knowledge of HR principles and practices
- Good knowledge of world geography including major ports and supporting airports

Job Summary and Purpose
- Support the activities of marine personnel on vessels wholly owned by the organization as defined within the in house safety management system of NAKILAT.
- Ensure that company vessels under their control are manned by properly qualified, experienced and competent personnel.
Key Accountabilities
- Onboarding: Establish and maintain an updated Relief Plan up to one year in advance for all officers going offshore.
- Organize travel arrangements for officers to join and leave vessels, with advice from third parties if needed.
- Ensure officers satisfy training and documentary requirements per company policies and legal requirements (Flag and National Certificates of Competency, Special Qualification Certificates).
- Appraisal and Performance Management: Review appraisal reports and follow up on recommended actions (training needs, disciplinary matters).
- Establish personal development plans for officers and monitor them continuously.
- Training Programs: Liaise with training section on scheduling training courses.
- Recruitment: Maintain database of applicants and undertake initial screening.
- Employee Records: Maintain all personnel and vessels files for accurate recording, certification, training, and salary payment.
Qualifications, Experience and Job Skills
- Degree in Business Administration/Human Resources or any other related field. Knowledge of shipping HR legislation (STCW/MLC) is favorable.
- Minimum of 3 6 years’ experience in a medium to large sized company.
- Reasonable understanding of the Maritime industry and legal requirements pertaining to sea staff employment.
- Good knowledge of HR principles and practices.
- Good knowledge of world geography including major ports and supporting airports.
