Position Overview
Contribute manufacturing engineering, equipment design, and project management expertise to a team developing precision instruments for minimally invasive robotic surgery.
Improve electro-mechanical components, assemblies, documentation, tooling, and test methods for efficacy, reliability, manufacturability, and cost.
Essential Job Duties
- Create and improve high-volume assembly lines, BOMs, workflows, manufacturing plans, and detailed work instructions.
- Design, procure, qualify, implement, and improve fixtures, tools, and equipment.
- Analyze equipment performance and manufacturing-line risks using PFMEA.
- Validate equipment and processes using IQ, OQ, DQ, and PQ qualification approaches.
- Support production lines, resolve equipment problems, and implement continuous-improvement projects.
- Provide DFx input, maintain quality-system compliance, and support failure analysis for production and field-return issues.
- Travel periodically to suppliers or the Intuitive Mexicali plant.
Required Skills and Experience
- Strong communication, technical analytical, troubleshooting, organizational, and technical-writing skills.
- Prior experience managing product and process changes.
