Overview

KPMG is launching a national team focused on using artificial intelligence, automation, and emerging technologies to transform tax services.

The Manager will help establish the Tax AI & Emerging Technology Lab and explore, experiment, and build innovative solutions.

The role combines business, accounting, tax, or financial knowledge with technology and AI-enabled innovation.

What you will do

  • Design solutions that transform tax compliance, advisory services, and client delivery.
  • Prototype and evaluate emerging technologies, AI platforms, and development approaches.
  • Build calculation engines, automation solutions, and AI-enabled tools for complex business and tax challenges.
  • Partner with tax professionals to improve service delivery and client outcomes.
  • Collaborate with developers, data specialists, and business stakeholders on scalable technology solutions.
  • Lead proof-of-concept initiatives and innovation projects.
  • Facilitate workshops with internal teams and clients.
  • Help shape the operating model and culture of the national innovation team.

What you bring

  • At least 4 years of experience in technology, data, automation, financial systems, tax technology, consulting, or related fields.
  • Education or experience in accounting, finance, tax, technology, computer science, engineering, or a combination of these disciplines.
  • Experience developing solutions with programming technologies such as Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, SQL, C++, C#, or Java.
  • Experience leveraging AI within the software development lifecycle.
  • Knowledge of automation, analytics, data transformation, and digital workflow technologies.
  • Ability to bridge business and technical perspectives and translate complex requirements into practical solutions.
  • Experience identifying opportunities, testing concepts, and delivering technology-enabled outcomes.
  • CPA designation or progress toward the CPA program is an asset.

Compensation

  • The expected base salary range is CAD 100,000 to CAD 150,000 in the Ontario region.
  • The expected base salary range is CAD 94,000 to CAD 156,000 in the British Columbia region.
  • The role may be eligible for bonus awards, and salary depends on location, skills, competencies, and qualifications.
