Role Summary
The Manager – Commercial is responsible for working closely with buyers and supporting purchasing activities across MAF Retail.
The role also involves contributing to the selection and evaluation of products featured in stores, catalogues, and online channels.
Role Profile
- Develop and implement sourcing strategies to ensure optimal stock levels, cost efficiency, and alignment with business objectives.
- Identify, evaluate, and introduce new products and suppliers to drive quality improvements and long-term cost savings.
- Manage tendering and RFQ processes, ensuring competitive sourcing and effective negotiation to secure favorable commercial terms.
- Analyze data to prevent stock shortages and overstocking, and implement control measures to optimize inventory.
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships, while assessing risks and expanding the supplier network through market research and industry engagement.
- Monitor sourcing performance through reports and metrics, driving cost control and continuous improvement in procurement efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards by conducting supplier audits and addressing product quality issues proactively.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align sourcing requirements, track retail trends, support business needs, and contribute to team development and best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field; a Master’s degree is an advantage.
- 5–7 years of experience in a similar role, with 2–4 years of experience in the retail or FMCG sector preferred.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders.
- Excellent teamwork and time management abilities, with a structured and organized approach to work.
- Strong numerical aptitude and decision-making skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Fluent in English (spoken, written, and reading); knowledge of Arabic is an added advantage.
