Role Overview

Jacobs is expanding its Energy & Power team to support power and infrastructure needs for data centers and private developers.

The Manager of Projects will lead a portfolio of projects and liaise with Advanced Facilities, project managers, sales, Global Integrated Delivery, and regional delivery teams.

The role covers high-voltage transmission lines, substations, distribution facilities, and related energy infrastructure.

Safety and Leadership

  • Promote a strong HSE culture and ensure project teams comply with Jacobs and client requirements.
  • Manage, coach, and support the professional development of Project Managers.
  • Ensure succession plans are in place and recommend hiring and termination actions with appropriate leaders.
  • Drive teams to provide outstanding service and solutions to clients.
  • Keep global and regional management and Program Directors informed about critical project issues and developments.

Strategic Account and Portfolio Management

  • Lead coordination across a portfolio of data center projects, ensuring consistent delivery, effective risk management, and alignment with client expectations.
  • Partner with sales and account teams to maintain the data center pipeline, identify opportunities, and support proposal development.
  • Coordinate utilization forecasts, resource inputs, and delivery changes with Global Integrated Delivery.
  • Coordinate with teams in the United Kingdom, Europe, and Asia-Pacific on integrated delivery and design standards.
  • Support proposals, pricing, schedules, risk reserves, and services for private developers and power infrastructure projects.
  • Partner with Project Managers and Client Account Managers to maintain client satisfaction, resolve issues, and support account growth.
  • Support business-plan forecasting and accurate project estimates to complete.
  • Drive planned gross margin through change management, cash management, staffing, and delivery of value-added services.

Quality and Project Controls

  • Ensure compliance with project execution and quality policies, procedures, protocols, work instructions, and mandated project tools.
  • Review and approve project risk registers, mitigation plans, execution plans, and quality plans.
  • Conduct monthly Operational Project Reviews and publish reports with critical issues and actions.
  • Attend Project Accounting Reviews for projects meeting applicable thresholds.
  • Review monthly estimates at completion and address variances with Project Managers.
  • Monitor accounts receivable and unbilled revenue and work with Project Managers to address issues.
  • Ensure quality-plan adherence through surveys, deliverable checks, and quality-control audits.
  • Ensure Project Managers coordinate with operational, group, and design leaders to assign appropriate staff.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, business, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least 10 years of experience managing projects related to energy, transmission and distribution, industrial facilities, advanced facilities, or data centers.
  • Demonstrated experience leading Project Managers and multidisciplinary teams across multiple concurrent projects.
  • Experience with project financial management, forecasting, risk management, change management, and client relationship management.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting data center developers, utilities, independent power producers, infrastructure investors, or other private-sector clients is preferred.
  • Professional Engineer or Project Management Professional certification is advantageous.

Compensation

  • The posted base salary range is CAD 168,600 to CAD 221,325 for Ontario, Canada locations.
  • Individual pay is determined by work location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

  • Jacobs uses a hybrid working policy that allows employees to split their work week between offices or projects and remote locations.
