Role Overview

  • As a Manager Deployment GTR, you will be part of the Global Travel Retail team, reporting to the Head of Deployment Area Middle East.
  • The Manager Deployment GTR role drives regional strategy execution across duty free markets by ensuring strong commercial results, effective market coverage, and a seamless consumer experience, while managing partnerships, compliance, and profitability to support sustainable growth.

Business Strategy & Planning

  • Advance & deploy the regional strategy in close alignment with global strategy.
  • Assess, identify, and prioritize new growth opportunities, including business development and multi category expansion initiatives.
  • Monitor and analyse overall business environment, customer & competitive actions as well as trade channel performance & trends to identify present and future business threats & opportunities.
  • Provide periodic input for the development, and lead the deployment of Brand Portfolio, pricing and Trade &Consumer Engagement strategies.
  • Lead pricing and margin proposals in accordance with fiscal and macro economic developments in the markets to maintain and extend profitable leadership in all trade channels.
  • Propose a market/channel coverage plan. Monitor actual vs. planned coverage and deploy the team to take remedial actions when necessary.
  • Plan and lead geo expansion initiatives in new markets and/or channels within designated area and conduct due diligence.

Reporting & KPI Tracking

  • Set KPI targets based on overall company objectives as well as team's input on market & channels performance and trends.
  • Provide input for forecasting, recommendations for stock management, monitor results vs. annual, quarterly & monthly targets, and deploy team to take corrective actions if necessary.

Account Management

  • Represent the company in negotiations with business partners. Build long term collaborative and sustainable relationships with key PMIDF's business partners and support them to achieve superior results.
  • Propose and deploy an approach to negotiating commercial terms with business partners by clearly defining decision making thresholds and fallback plans when applicable.
  • Continuously evaluate business effectiveness in the area and make proposals to optimize business relationships through best serving means.
  • Lead the team to ensure best quality of merchandising execution in the field including building partnerships with key touchpoint managers.

Consumer Experience

  • Advance & deploy the regional consumer experience strategy in alignment with global strategy
  • Lead the Consumer Experience team to ensure seamless LAU/LAS consumer experience in Duty Free touchpoints and as per touch point segmentation.
  • Plan superior execution to address consumer pain points, drive conversion to purchase, and build category leadership.
  • Ensure deployment of PMI manpower footprint in alignment with budget & plan.
  • Strong partnerships with domestic teams to build integrated plans and create value throughout consumer journey.

Regulatory & Product Flow Compliance

  • Build and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders in order to anticipate external developments that may impact PMIDF’s business.
  • Know and stay in compliance with the letter and spirit of the applicable laws, and standards of business conduct.
  • Ensure that the team is trained and complies with all the related policies, procedures and processes.
  • Manage permanent volume/COT monitoring and product flow control activities and report any compliance risks.

People Management

  • Build and lead a competent and engaged team to meet current and future business challenges.
  • Propose and implement organizational changes to meet strategic business needs.

Budget & Resource Management

  • Full P&L responsibility for the area of responsibility
  • Manage deployment of assigned commercial investments (space rental, PPOSM, Brand Ambassadors, trade programs & events, etc.).
  • Manage controllable cost budget (sales allowance, trade incentives) and propose corrective/ preventive initiatives in case of eventual deviations.

Who We Are Looking For

  • Fluent English communication (spoken & written)
  • 10 15 years of experience as a sales manager with strong commercial knowledge
  • Strong business acumen to understand key drivers of business including broad regulatory and taxation understanding of the operating environment.
  • Solid understanding of the business environment/ Dynamics (Operator, PM performance, competition, channels)
  • Understanding of the CJ and NPS principles and strong knowledge of those drivers affecting consumer perception
  • Comfortable dealing with ambiguity to adapt to uncertain and constantly changing business conditions.
  • Agile learner with strong action orientation and drive for results
  • Entrepreneurship; creative thinking, agility; collaboration
  • Readiness to travel.
  • Situational leadership and communication to deal with diversified culture, markets, and customer profiles
