Job Description

  • As an expert in Ancillary Revenue and Merchandising, you will act as the strategic architect of Etihad’s non fare revenue streams, driving the end to end development of innovative products that enhance the guest journey and maximize Revenue per Passenger (RevPP).
  • This high impact role sits at the intersection of Digital, Sales, and Airport Operations, leveraging AI and Machine Learning to deliver hyper personalized offers—from branded fare optimization to 3rd party partnerships like travel insurance and car rentals.
  • You will be responsible for monitoring commercial performance, identifying new market opportunities, and implementing sophisticated merchandising strategies across all digital channels to ensure Etihad remains a leader in global aviation retailing.

Accountabilities

  • Act as the subject matter expert and develop innovative solutions to highlight and implement revenue opportunities to Revenue Management, Sales, Digital, eCommerce and Product teams, Airport operations.
  • Identify and lead end to end development of new ancillary products aligned with Etihad’s commercial goals
  • Monitor commercial performance of all ancillary categories, producing actionable insights on take rate and Revenue per Passenger (RevPP) to drive continuous improvement
  • Lead the adoption of new ancillary products and drive the development of revenue contribution, including end to end management of the 3rd party ancillary product portfolio (e.g travel insurance, car rentals etc), ensuring the product portfolio and partners align with Etihad’s brand and commercial st
  • Develop and implement processes for leveraging new technology and deliver enhanced products to Etihad’s Guests and improving revenue, including the use of AI/ML systems
  • Manage the strategy and performance of branded fares, including pricing, positioning, merchandising and buy up optimization across all channels
  • Develop and execute Etihad’s ancillary merchandising strategy across digital platforms

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree with 7 years’ travel/airline experience with a minimum of 3 years specifically in ancillary revenue with a strong grasp of ancillary product development
  • Advance experience analysing ancillary performance data to make strategic and tactical recommendations and decisions
  • Experience partnering with cross functional teams to deliver revenue targets, including Sales, Revenue Management, Digital, eCommerce, Product etc.
  • Experience managing 3rd party commercial partnerships within aviation, travel or eCommerce, including contract negotiation and performance management
  • Proven track record in branded fares or fare family strategy, including pricing, segmentation, and merchandising
  • Strong understanding of digital merchandising principles, including UX considerations and A/B testing
