Key skills for this role
Completing a range of logistics tasks to support the effective and efficient receipt and registration of samples into the business
Ensuring the registration, preparation and splitting of samples is carried out promptly to comply with sample stability times
Packing samples and containers for distribution to customers or subcontractors via courier services
Carrying out filtration of waste water samples
Rotating sample bottles and disposing of bottles following analysis
Washing glassware and maintaining laboratory consumables
Processing returns and waste materials for recycling or disposal
Ensuring workstations and working environments are kept clean, tidy and organised at all times
Following correct storage guidelines and maintaining compliance standards
Adhering to ISO 17025 requirements and the Company Quality Management System
Following Health & Safety procedures, PPE requirements and safe manual handling practices
Reporting any near misses or incidents to the Line Manager
3 GCSEs including English and Maths are desirable
IT skills including knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Outlook, with the ability to learn in-house systems following training
Ability to work accurately and consistently to tight deadlines
Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
Good communication skills
A proactive and dependable approach to work
Commitment to maintaining high standards of safety, quality and housekeeping
