Source, negotiate, and procure various types of metal scrap across the UAE.
Build and maintain long-term relationships with foundries, scrap yards, traders, and industrial suppliers.
The role requires significant local field travel for material inspections, face-to-face negotiations, and procurement operations.
Key responsibilities
- Visit local foundries, scrap yards, industrial facilities, and sellers across the UAE to identify procurement opportunities.
- Negotiate and build commercial partnerships for scrap procurement.
- Inspect scrap materials on site to verify quality, grade, and weight before purchases.
- Negotiate purchase prices using market rates, material quality, and company budget targets.
- Maintain supplier information covering pricing trends, availability, and delivery reliability.
- Coordinate loading, weighing, and transportation of purchased scrap to company facilities.
- Manage purchase orders, weighbridge slips, supplier invoices, and payment receipts.
- Follow local UAE commercial laws and internal company procedures.
- Monitor local scrap market trends, competitor activity, and pricing shifts.
Requirements and qualifications
- Proven experience in local purchasing, field procurement, or vendor management within the UAE.
- Experience in metal, steel, or scrap industries is highly preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Fluency in written and spoken English is essential.
- Valid UAE Driver’s License and willingness to travel frequently across industrial zones in the UAE.
- Familiarity with metal scrap grading, foundry operations, and weight verification is a plus.
