Lifting Engineer And Appointed Person (Ap)

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, supervise, and coordinate all lifting activities with project teams and subcontractors.
• Prepare and review lifting plans, method statements, risk assessments, and job safety analyses (JSA).
• Conduct rigging studies, crane selection, load calculations, and interpretation of crane load charts.
• Assess and approve heavy and critical lifting operations, including multi-crane lifting activities.
• Prepare transport route studies, loading/unloading drawings, lifting drawings, and AutoCAD-based lifting plans.
• Ensure lifting activities are executed in accordance with ADNOC requirements, project specifications, and HSE standards.
• Conduct lifting equipment inspections and verify maintenance records, certifications, and compliance prior to mobilization.
• Manage certification, coding, and periodic renewal of lifting equipment and accessories.
• Deliver lifting and rigging safety awareness programs and support competency development initiatives.
• Coordinate with operations, engineering, construction, and HSE teams to ensure safe and efficient lifting operations.
• Provide technical guidance and solutions related to crane operations, rigging methods, and heavy lift execution.
• Monitor lifting activities to ensure compliance with safety, quality, productivity, and project schedule requirements.

Requirements

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (3-year Diploma) or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum 7 years of lifting-related experience in Oil & Gas projects (Offshore and Onshore).
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role as an Appointed Person (AP).
• Proven experience in planning and executing heavy lifts, critical lifts, and multi-crane lifting operations.
• Strong knowledge of crane operations, rigging engineering, load calculations, lifting studies, and lifting equipment.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD for preparation of lifting and transport drawings.
• Sound understanding of structural, mechanical, and civil engineering principles related to lifting operations.
• Familiarity with international lifting standards, regulations, and industry best practices.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.

Mandatory Certification

• LEEA Appointed Person Certification, or
• 4-Day Appointed Person Course Certification from an ADNOC Offshore-approved training provider using an approved tutor.
