Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Lifeguard role based at Palma Beach Resort & Spa in Umm al-Quwain.
The Lifeguard monitors pools, beach areas, and water attractions to protect guests and enforce resort safety rules.
Responsibilities
- Maintain constant surveillance, identify hazards, and respond quickly and effectively to emergencies.
- Perform water rescues and first aid, inspect safety equipment, and check water conditions.
- Report safety or maintenance concerns and communicate safe water practices to guests.
- Work with other resort teams to support guest safety and an excellent experience.
Qualifications
- Strong swimming ability and water safety knowledge in pool and open-water environments.
- Lifeguarding, CPR, and first-aid certification, or willingness to obtain certification before starting.
- Ability to remain alert, respond under pressure, and follow emergency procedures accurately.
- Effective communication and customer service skills with a calm and professional approach.
- Basic knowledge of health and safety standards, risk assessment, and incident reporting.
- Physical fitness for water rescues, lifting, and prolonged outdoor standing.
- Previous lifeguard or similar safety-focused hospitality experience is advantageous.
- Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and holidays as required.
