Job Description
- Play an active role in school advancement and accreditation activities.
- Create an environment for active and participatory learning.
- Participate in developing district policies on material selection, circulation, copyright, etc.
Promoting Reading and Information Literacy
- Ensure library supports inquiry and provides easy access to eResources.
- Work with teaching staff to plan and deliver information curriculum through accelerated reader.
- Lead reading lessons across KS3 classes and support weaker readers.
- Supervise KS3 library lessons and manage classes independently.
- Manage accelerated reading program and provide reports on student progress.
- Coordinate school wide guidance on effective use of resources.
Library Management
- Ensure resources are catalogued, organized, and maintained.
- Develop buying plan and strategies for high quality materials.
- Manage Integrated Library System.
- Promote library services and resources.
- Maintain up to date library procedures documents.
- Develop and contribute to school wide reading culture.
- Perform circulation routines and monitor student use.
- Prepare financial estimates and manage library budget.
Health and Safety
- Emphasize safety in all areas of the curriculum.
- Perform playground duties on time.
- Take necessary precautions to protect students and property.
- Assist in implementing policies and rules.
- Follow health and safety procedures.
