Role Overview
- Jobholders at this level are responsible for leading work activities and working autonomously with minor direction towards predetermined long term objectives.
- Jobholders might act as internal consultants and facilitators through providing guidance to deliver and perform operational activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare complex legal studies to Committees on withholding taxes and value added taxes and real estate transactions taxes.
- Provide legal opinion for consultation requests and develop action plans for issues.
- Stay up to date with all tax/zakat laws and regulations through research and legal advice.
- Request required documents/data from relevant stakeholders within specified period to prepare and study case files.
- Prepare case files and ensure data entered are complete and error free.
- Correct errors of data entered into the case files based on information available.
- Study accurately and objectively cases related to withholding tax including double taxation agreements and verify tax exceptions/exclusions and exemptions.
- Study accurately and objectively cases related to value added taxes, and cases between individuals.
- Study accurately and objectively cases related to selected goods taxes and related fines.
- Study accurately and objectively cases related to real estate transactions taxes and related fines.
- Study accurately and objectively cases related to clauses on statutes of limitations on assessments related to all zakat and tax issues.
- Study accurately and objectively any legal clause raised by the Appellant or Respondent.
