Responsibilities
- Draft, review and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements
- Advise the business on commercial, payments, and financial services legal matters
- Provide guidance on UAE Central Bank regulations and other applicable regulatory requirements
- Support compliance, governance, and risk management initiatives across the business
- Partner with internal stakeholders to deliver practical, commercially focused legal advice
- Review and develop legal documentation, policies, and procedures
- Monitor regulatory developments and advise on their impact on the business
- Liaise with and manage external legal counsel where required
Requirements
- Qualified lawyer with 3+ years' post qualification experience (PQE)
- Experience gained within a FinTech, financial institution, payments company, telecommunications company, or a reputable law firm with a strong FinTech/payments practice
- Strong knowledge of UAE Central Bank regulations and the UAE financial services regulatory framework
- Demonstrated experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts
- Experience advising on compliance, governance, and regulatory matters
- Commercially minded with the ability to provide pragmatic, business focused legal advice
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Based in the UAE or able to work from Dubai

The Role
- A Dubai based organization is seeking a commercially focused Legal Counsel to join its legal team on an initial 3 month contract, with the possibility of a further 3 month extension.
- This is an excellent opportunity for a lawyer with experience in FinTech, payments, or financial services to work across a broad range of commercial and regulatory matters within a fast paced business.
- This is a part time position (4 days per week) based in Dubai.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, review and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements.
