Position Overview
Qatar University’s Department of Humanities invites applications for a full-time Lecturer in Geographic Information Systems.
The position is based in Doha and is scheduled to begin in January 2027.
The appointment is renewable for three years.
The role focuses on teaching GIS, remote sensing, and geospatial data science, with expectations for teaching excellence and scholarship.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Participate in relevant teaching and research supervision.
- Offer lectures and seminars at the undergraduate level.
- Contribute to the quality of the research environment in the department and wider university.
- Contribute to ongoing curriculum development.
- Monitor the academic performance of undergraduate students.
- Perform other duties specified by the Head of Department.
Qualifications
- Hold a PhD in Geographic Information Systems from an internationally recognized university.
- Have experience teaching a wide range of GIS and related-discipline courses.
- Demonstrate competency and involvement in research.
