Role Overview
Learning support role providing nursing instruction, remediation, simulation support, laboratory supervision, student advising, and learning program coordination.
The specialist also supervises support staff, manages learning-support communications, collaborates across departments, and reports on program effectiveness.
Responsibilities
- Provide instruction, remediation, and evaluation in didactic and clinical learning concepts, including patient-care simulations.
- Provide academic support using current nursing concepts, competencies, and practices.
- Communicate academic programs, policies, regulations, requirements, and options to students.
- Document student progress and report it to academic leadership.
- Coordinate and supervise laboratory experiences and provide individual technical-skills guidance.
- Plan open laboratory schedules, resources, learning support plans, and related programs.
- Manage Learning Support social media and publicity campaigns.
- Collaborate with Information Technology Services and academic departments.
- Supervise peer tutors, graduate assistants, and teaching assistants.
- Assess student learning needs and analyze statistics to report learning-support effectiveness.
