About the Role

Responsibilities
- Work with groups and individuals to support learning across the curriculum under the direction of the teacher
- Encourage independence by helping children achieve objectives through questioning, dialogue, demonstrating and modelling
- Prepare resources and be responsible for specific areas to support day to day running of the school
- Engage pupils in meaningful talk to develop language and build relationships
- Supervise children on trips, at break times, and during swimming and PE lessons
- Manage pupil behaviour in a positive manner and be a positive role model
- Ensure confidentiality at all times
- Meet at least weekly with the teaching team
- Work closely with teachers to ensure effective communication concerning pupil progress and learning
- Be proactive in own professional development

Job Description for Learning Support Assistant

Core Purposes and Key Duties
- Help children make as much progress with their learning as possible
- Encourage children to be independent
- Support teachers in the day to day running of the class
- Work with groups and individuals to support learning across the curriculum

Hours of Work
- Core working hours: 7:25am to 3:25pm Monday to Thursday, 7:25am to 12:00pm on Fridays
- Holidays as per the school KHDA approved calendar
