Virtusa is seeking an engineer for its technology operations team.
The role is described in the body as an IT Support Engineer focused on application and production support.
Technical skills
- Hands-on experience with Core Java, Java EE, Spring, and Spring Boot is required.
- Knowledge of AWS components and deployment through CI/CD pipelines is required.
- Experience with log analysis, application troubleshooting, UNIX or Linux, and basic shell scripting is required.
- Knowledge of relational databases, especially Oracle, and experience writing SQL queries and scripts is required.
- Understanding of SQS and infrastructure components such as firewalls, load balancers, Kong, and routes is required.
- Experience with AppDynamics and ELK monitoring tools is expected.
- IBM WebSphere administration and deployment knowledge is good to have.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot production issues from application code independently with minimal supervision.
- Analyze production issues using AppDynamics, ELK, and other monitoring tools.
- Support applications and investigate logs, databases, operating systems, and infrastructure components.
- Work with AWS deployment frameworks and CI/CD pipelines.
Minimum qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline.
- At least 7 years of experience working as a Support Engineer.
- Prior application support experience is an added advantage.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
