Job Requirements

  • Required technologies include Flowable BPM, BPMN 2.0, CMMN, DMN, Java 17+, Spring Boot 3.x, REST/OpenAPI, Kafka, process testing, GitHub Actions, Maven or Gradle, Prometheus, Grafana, banking PII handling, OAuth2, and OIDC.

Qualifications and Experience

  • 6+ years of professional software engineering experience are required.
  • The role requires 4+ years of hands-on Flowable experience, or Activiti or Camunda experience with willingness to migrate to Flowable.
  • Proven production delivery of end-to-end BPM solutions is required, including embedding, deploying, and operating process engines at scale.
  • Strong Java and Spring Boot capability is required to implement delegates, REST clients, and tests without Backend Engineer assistance.
  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is required, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Experience in banking, fintech, insurance, or another regulated financial-services domain is strongly preferred.
  • Experience in an offshore development center or distributed engineering model is an advantage.

Certifications and Preferred Skills

  • OMG BPMN certification or Flowable training certification is a plus.
  • Preferred experience includes Flowable Work and Flowable Engage.
  • Nice-to-have exposure includes ML inference or LLM-based agents as BPMN service tasks.
  • Nice-to-have knowledge includes SWIFT MT/MX messaging standards and CBUAE Open Banking API compliance workflows.
  • Nice-to-have experience includes event sourcing and RPA tools such as UiPath or Automation Anywhere.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver end-to-end BPM solutions in production, including process-engine embedding, deployment, and operation at scale.
  • Implement Java and Spring Boot delegates, REST clients, and automated tests.
  • Develop and operate Flowable-based process applications using BPMN, CMMN, and DMN.
  • Integrate REST/OpenAPI services and Kafka events into process solutions.
  • Support process testing, CI/CD automation, monitoring, and observability using GitHub Actions, Maven or Gradle, Prometheus, and Grafana.
  • Handle banking-related personally identifiable information and authentication using OAuth2/OIDC.
  • Contribute to intelligent process automation, financial messaging, open-banking workflows, event sourcing, or RPA integrations when applicable.
