Role Overview
The Lead Planning Engineer will develop estimates, project schedules, resource forecasts, and execution strategies for insulation, painting, and scaffolding works in oil and gas facilities.
The role requires strong technical understanding and hands-on field exposure.
Estimation and Costing
- Prepare detailed BOQs, cost estimates, and bid proposals for insulation, painting, and scaffolding work packages.
- Review client drawings, specifications, and scope documents for material and manpower estimates.
- Develop pricing structures for materials, consumables, equipment, scaffolding systems, and manpower using GCC market standards.
- Conduct site assessments to validate quantities and understand access constraints.
- Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors for updated pricing and technical compliance.
Planning and Scheduling
- Prepare Level 2–4 project schedules using Primavera P6 or equivalent planning software.
- Develop resource loading plans covering manpower histograms, equipment schedules, and scaffold material planning.
- Coordinate with construction teams to update progress, monitor variances, and recommend corrective actions.
- Track daily, weekly, and monthly progress and provide productivity analysis for IPS works.
