Role overview

Core requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
• The role requires 7 to 9 years of experience, including 8 or more years of professional software engineering experience.
• At least 2 years of technical leadership experience delivering production commerce or similarly complex systems.
• At least 7 years of HCL Commerce or IBM WebSphere Commerce v8 experience is required.
• At least 7 years of Java and object-oriented design experience on large IT systems is required.
• At least 4 years of Spring or Spring MVC and hands-on Spring Boot experience is required.
• At least 5 years of REST and SOAP web services experience is required.
• At least 5 years of source control experience, with Git required.
• At least 3 years of JavaScript, HTML, and CSS plus production Next.js and React experience is required.
• Experience leading Agile delivery with Atlassian tools is required.
• Strong communication and mixed full-time and contractor team leadership skills are required.

Preferred skills

• TypeScript is preferred.
• B2B commerce, punchout, mobile commerce, and headless or composable commerce experience are preferred.
• MuleSoft or similar iPaaS, Angular or Vue, Solr, Redis, CMS storefronts, and phased storefront migration are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineers delivering production commerce or similarly complex systems.
• Customize commerce stores and implement business logic, catalog, order, and user flows.
• Develop Java and Spring-based backend services and integrations.
• Build REST and SOAP web services and integrate enterprise systems.
• Develop and maintain React or Next.js front-end experiences.
• Lead Agile delivery, including story quality, code reviews, and delivery execution.
• Use Jira, Bitbucket or Git, and Confluence to coordinate engineering work.
• Lead and coordinate a mixed full-time and contractor engineering team.
