Lead Java Full Stack Engineer

Role Overview

Core Experience

• At least 8 years of professional software engineering experience and at least 2 years as a technical lead or equivalent.
• At least 7 years of HCL Commerce or IBM WebSphere Commerce v8 experience, including store customization, business logic, catalog, order, user flows, and backend integration.
• At least 7 years of Java development and object-oriented design on large IT systems.
• At least 4 years of Spring or Spring MVC and hands-on Spring Boot experience with REST APIs and service integration.
• At least 5 years of web services experience with REST and SOAP.
• At least 5 years of source control experience, with Git required; SVN or CVS may be prior experience.
• At least 3 years of JavaScript, HTML, and CSS plus production experience with Next.js and React.

Technical Leadership

• Lead engineers delivering production commerce or similarly complex systems.
• Lead a mixed full-time employee and contractor team.
• Lead Agile delivery with responsibility for story quality, reviews, and delivery.

Commerce and Backend Engineering

• Customize HCL Commerce or IBM WebSphere Commerce v8 store functionality, business logic, tools, and catalog, order, and user flows.
• Develop Java and object-oriented solutions for large IT systems.
• Build Spring and Spring Boot services, REST APIs, service integrations, and web services.

Frontend Engineering

• Develop and support frontend applications using JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Next.js, and React.

Preferred Experience

• B2B commerce, punchout, mobile commerce, headless or composable commerce, and MuleSoft or similar iPaaS experience are preferred.
• Angular, Vue, Solr, Redis, CMS-driven storefronts, TypeScript, and storefront migration experience are preferred or advantageous.
• Experience working with Preview and Runtime Commerce stacks as distinct environments is preferred.

Education and Communication

• A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience, is required.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to lead a mixed employee and contractor team are required.
